The Coolermaster Hyper 412S performed much better than expected, achieving temperature of just 52c degrees on a full load at a stock level clock of 3.4GHz. The budget cooler reached temperatures of 77c degrees on a maximum load at a overclocked speed of 4.2GHz. It seems that the Hyper 412S budget cooler is able to reach temperatures of a much higher end cooler. As mentioned in the review, the 412S is a cooler half the size of the big brother the 612S which was recently reviewed, the cooler at stock level standards is able to surpass the bigger unit but not on overclocked setting. Due to this was would expect the price of it to be slightly less than the 612S which currently from this date costs around £36 at best. The 412S of course uses less physical materials then the 612S so that should be another reason why its price should be much less. We checked over the pricing for the Hyper 412S from Coolermaster and found it at a low price of just £33-£34, so around £2 cheaper than the 612S. Due to this pricing which did not drop too significantly compared to what it should of, we would say you are definitely better off getting the slightly larger 612S model. Although it is much larger and will crap up much more space in your system enclosure, your CPU temperature will definitely benefit from it at high clock speeds, even if you do not wish you raise it to 4.2GHz. This being said you still cannot knock the cooler as it is still offered to you at a very low asking price and delivers great stock heat dissipation while performing in almost ultimate silence, as the Hyper 412S and the 612S have been design for with their PMW adapted fans. The design is fairly standard and nothing is embellished of standout significantly on the cooler, and for that we have to knock is down a mark, after all this is very visual and crucial bit of kit to make your system look cool. It’s innovation with the unique installation mounting bar/tool was a great feature of the air cooler and deserves to be recognised; we think this design should be seen and applied to more coolers.
